01Filing a takedown

To request that we remove infringing content, send a complete DMCA notice to copyright@motionsteer.com. We acknowledge within 24h and act within 5 business days.

A complete notice has:

  1. A description of the copyrighted work you own.
  2. The exact URL of the infringing material on MotionSteer (e.g. motionsteer.com/c/<clip-id>).
  3. Your contact details (name, address, email, phone).
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized.
  5. A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are (or are authorized by) the rights holder.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

02What we do when we get a notice

Within 24h we acknowledge receipt. Within 5 business days we either remove the content or, if the notice is clearly defective, ask for clarification. Each takedown is logged in our transparency report.

We notify the user whose content was removed, give them the takedown notice (redacted of sensitive personal data), and offer the counter-notice process.

03Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, file a counter-notice with:

  1. Identification of the removed material.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake.
  3. Your contact details and consent to local jurisdiction.
  4. Your signature.

We forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they don't sue within 10–14 business days, we restore your content.

04Repeat-infringer policy

We track strikes. After three valid notices against the same account, we terminate publishing privileges. Reinstatement is possible after a written commitment and a 90-day cool-off.

05Automated copyright matching

Every render is fingerprinted before publish against:

Matches show in your preview & validate step. We block publishing if a match is over 90% confidence; you can dispute or counter-notice.

06Fair use & exceptions

Fair use, parody, criticism, and EU copyright exceptions (Art. 17 CDSM) are real, but the burden is on the user. If your clip falls under an exception, file a counter-notice or, ideally, add context (caption, comment) before publishing.
